For Lucas Aultman, finding the Sliders has been a game-changer. As a military kid constantly on the move, the challenge of building lasting connections is all too familiar. Joining the Sliders has provided Lucas with more than just a baseball team—it’s given him a supportive community and a sense of belonging that transcends the frequent relocations. The Sliders have become a second family for Lucas, offering stability, friendship, and the joy of being part of something bigger. This opportunity has been invaluable in helping him build lasting relationships and a strong sense of community, no matter where the next move may take him.
For Gus Rhodes, the Sliders have been much more than just a baseball team—they’ve been a transformative experience. Through the highs and lows of the game, Gus has discovered life lessons. He’s learned the true meaning of perseverance, from braving the cold temperatures in March to enduring the summer heat, and finding his grit while playing through pain and exhaustion. The early mornings and late nights have taught him dedication and commitment, and he’s developed resilience by holding his head high through tough losses and celebrating hard-earned victories. The Sliders have shown Gus the importance of teamwork, communication, encouragement, and discipline. He’s not only grown into a skilled baseball player but also a responsible and respectful young man. We are deeply grateful to have found a place where Gus can be himself and thrive both on and off the field.
For Hayden Rowell, the Sliders organization has been more than just a place to play baseball; it’s been a gateway to lasting friendships and invaluable life lessons. Through the Sliders, Hayden has met some of his closest friends—relationships that might never have blossomed without the connections made through the game. The coaches from his first year have not only honed his baseball skills but also imparted lessons that extend far beyond the field, shaping Hayden’s everyday life. The sense of community with the Sliders family during the 2024 season has been a highlight for Hayden, and we are truly grateful for the positive impact the organization has had on his life.
Luke Lawrence, plays for the 12U Sliders, and brings passion and energy to both the pitcher’s mound and center field. With his favorite player, Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers, as his inspiration, Luke continually strives to improve his game. Baseball isn’t just a sport for Luke—it’s a family affair. Surrounded by a gigantic cheering section at every game, he knows he has the full support of his family and friends, which pushes him to give his all. Whether hunting or fishing with his dad, or playing under the bright lights, Luke is always focused, determined, and ready to lead. Being part of the Sliders has amplified his love for the game, allowing him to sharpen his skills and create lasting memories.
Kyle Bock eats, sleeps, and lives baseball. Since joining the Sliders, the positive impact on his life has been incredible. Not only has he made lifelong friends, but the Sliders have also taught him the fundamentals of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Every day, Kyle is improving both on and off the field, growing as a player and as a young man, and embracing the values that will carry him through life.
Baseball hasn’t always been a big part of Brendaen’s life, but started around 7 years ago when his now stepbrothers and stepmom met his dad and they all bonded over the love of the game. Baseball runs deep in the blood of these five individuals who are always showing up to support him at games and practices, and are always willing to lend a hand when needed; from hitting ground balls to patching up injured players on the sidelines. Inseparable from the beginning, Brendaen and his stepbrothers can constantly be found outside in the front yard hitting off the tee, working on fielding, or pitching from the worn-out hole in the yard that is their pitching mound until the sun goes down. You can hear the many passed balls thumping the siding from the inside too! Come rain, shine, snow, or sleet it’s hard to keep this kid from wanting to be out playing baseball.
Sliders baseball not only has taught Brendaen physical skills but also mental skills. Brendaen is determined, persistent, and always soaking up what he can learn to improve his game. Brendaen strives to be the first one on the field and the last one off and will play any position he’s asked to whether he has before or not, just to learn it. He’s had to overcome lots of obstacles physically and mentally in his life but he’s never let one of them knock him down for good. In the face of adversity this kid will dust himself off and keep pushing. When Brendaen isn’t on the field for his team 13u Red, or in the yard practicing, he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering for community events with his Rolla Lions Club family or fishing down at the river with his Nonnie and Grandpa. You’ll never find him too far from a baseball glove and willing to play catch if needed. He gives his all for his family, friends, and teammates-a trait he inherited from his dad, Wes Bailey, who he says is his hero.
For KT Fuentez, the Sliders have taught him patience and poise. The dedication and discipline it takes to practice and take every ounce of practice time to improve his skills has been something he’s had to get used to. The Sliders gave KT an opportunity to focus on being a better ball player with support from his team and coaches. This upcoming season will be his third year playing and he has fallen in love with the game.
Last summer he improved dramatically in his hitting. The first time he saw a 60-70mph fastball was one to remember. Towards the end of the summer, his at-bats were more productive, he was more confident and he wanted more! The Sliders have shown KT that baseball requires dedication, resiliency, and the ability to pick your team up when they are down.
Ryker Cravens is not just another player on the field, when he steps into that batters box, a surge of energy ripples through his teammates. Everyone knows that for Ryker, baseball is more than just a sport, it’s a shared experience, a bond that unites them all.
From the very first pitch of the season, Ryker showcases his remarkable talent and dedication. Whether he's hitting the ball out of the park or making impressive plays at 3rd base, it's clear this young athlete shines. But it's not merely his skills that set him apart, it’s his unwavering camaraderie and sportsmanship that truly elevate the team's spirit.
His infectious laughter and warm spirit create an atmosphere where everyone feels valued. A big heart lies deep within the boundaries of his jersey, making him the type of teammate who lifts others up rather than basking in the glow of his own accomplishments.
When victory is achieved, Ryker doesn’t bask alone; he turns to his team, proudly wearing a grin that says, “We did this together.” And in times of loss, he's the first to rally the group, reminding everyone about the joy of the game and the importance of perseverance. Ryker is more than just a rising star, he symbolizes the essence of teamwork, friendship, and passion.
With every swing of his bat or sprint around the bases, he reminds all who watch why they fell in love with baseball in the first place. In Ryker's world, the game stretches beyond the field, it creates lifelong memories, lasting friendships, and an endless family built on a foundation of trust and respect.
Braxton embodies the spirit of a true athlete, small in stature but mighty in heart. On the baseball field, every swing of his bat is a testament to his passion for the game. With the sun glinting off his determined eyes, he stands at the plate, a fierce competitor ready to defy all odds. His slight frame belies unparalleled strength and lightning fast reflexes, often leaving opponents in awe as he zooms around the bases with the speed of a cheetah.
Every pitch thrown at him fuels his competitive fire, driving him to dig deep and give his all. Braxton’s love for baseball infuses every practice and game with a heart pounding intensity that inspires everyone around him. Whether he’s diving for a catch in the outfield or sliding into home plate, this great player never backs down, reminding us all that with passion and perseverance, greatness comes in all sizes.
Alex Smith’s journey with the Sliders Baseball organization has been amazing. Last season, as part of the 9U team, Alex thrived alongside an incredible group of teammates. A special moment came at the Veterans Day Parade recently, where he spotted Coach Josh marching—a reminder of the strong bonds and community the Sliders represent. Now, as a rising 10U player, Alex is eager to build on last year’s successes and create even more lasting memories in the season ahead.
